Sponsors of the Sydney radio station part-owned by Alan Jones have started pulling advertising after his comments about the death of Julia Gillard’s father sparked a flood of complaints.
2GB star Jones was forced to publicly apologise yesterday after declaring Ms Gillard’s late father John Gillard had died of “shame” because of her “lies” at a private Sydney University Liberal Club fundraiser.
As politicians and media commentators condemned the comments yesterday people used social media to call for a boycott of 2GB and demand sponsors cancel their advertising contracts with the station.
Sounds worse than the TodayFM scandals, Alan Jones’ comments were very offensive and the worse part was his non-apology.
