Julie Gale has slammed a line of baby clothes with provocative slogans sold by national retailer Cotton On, calling for the the garments be withdrawn. Ms Gale said that even as a comedy writer she found the use of babies as a billboard of sexual innuendo unacceptable. She later went on to describe the early sexualisation of children as a harmful problem which research has tied to depression and low self esteem.
Julie Gale is a Speaker at the Generation Next Seminar series and is organising two conferences examining the sexualisation of children in the media.
