It’s that time of year again. No, I don’t mean report writing time – I mean Christmas, although you may have missed that in amongst all the assessments and general busyness that the end of the year entails.

Naturally though, the kids are excited and can’t wait to celebrate, and there’s some great ways you can get into the spirit of the season outdoors with your students.

Have a Christmas picnic – ask your students to bring in some goodies to share (make sure you set some limits so you don’t end up with 20 trifles or 30 Christmas puddings!) and head outside for a bite to eat. Bring some tinsel to make it festive, but don’t forget to clean up afterwards.

Is your class filled with arty types? Why not make some natural Christmas decorations!
