The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) last week launched Let’s Fight It Together, a government resource designed to combat cyberbullying.

The resource which is available to schools includes a 40-page teacher’s guide, featuring lesson plans, follow up activities and support material to help teachers write classes to educate students about cyberbullying, and a DVD, which features a film depicting ways which cyberbullying can occur and people it can affect.

The resource has previously been available in New Zealand where it has received praise for its effectiveness.

Communications minister Senator Stephen Conroy said the resource would empower young people. “This new resource will help raise awareness while providing important advice and support for young Australians, teachers and parents,” he said.

The ACMA has so far reported over 200 orders for the resource from schools across Australia.

Schools can order the resource from the Cybersmart website.
